Spottune - Wireless Commercial Audio Solutions for Warehouses, Bars and More

Spottune - Wireless Commercial Audio Solutions for Warehouses, Bars and More

Spottune is a Danish company which offers a range of products that enable you to set up a completely wireless commercial audio system.

Through the Stream transmitter, you can wirelessly connect to up to 30 Omni speakers, up to a distance of 100m making this ideal in larger premises such as a factory or warehouse.

The Stream transmitter offers 2 zones which can be independently controlled, and can play music from a phone or tablet via Bluetooth, a line input, or via LAN for cloud streaming services.

There is also a microphone input with priority for paging and announcement applications.

Three different speaker models also offer a variety of choice to best suit your building.

Designed with Commercial Use in Mind

Spottune has been designed as commercial audio solution first and foremost, and it can be used in almost any premises with the correct configuration.

It will benefit you in a number of ways when compared to a traditional wired system, such as:

No Cables

As Spottune is completely wireless, no speaker cables are involved. This is ideal in buildings which are unable to install cable, such as a furnished or listed building. A by-product of this is that it's very portable, and can be moved as required.

Easy to understand, difficult to get wrong

Spottune is very easy to operate, with simple intuitive controls in an easy to understand layout. Spottune can be controlled on the hardware itself, or via a computer/smartphone via the cloud.

Cloud Control & Configuration

Spottune can be controlled over the cloud via a dedicated piece of software. You can configure the speaker settings, review all connected devices, and stream music to your Spottune systems.

Save Money on Installation

A huge part of installing a traditional wired system involves routing cable, which takes a lot of time and labour. With Spottune, you only need to install the speaker itself, or at the very most install a power point to plug the speaker into. The STREAM transmitter simply plugs into the mains and is very easy to set up.

What would usually take days in installation time with a traditional wired system, can be reduced to hours with Spottune.

Move and Expand with Ease

Because of how Spottune Speakers are installed, they can be easily moved or adjusted around the building if anything changes. You can even move the system to a new area, and get set up in minutes.

Because the system is wireless, there is no inconvenience or hassle when adding new speakers. Install as normal, and sync to the Stream transmitter.

How it Works

Spottune works by pairing a number of speakers with the Stream transmitter. Spottune Stream is like the central hub of the entire system, and is what you will connect all of your input sources to.

It features Bluetooth for pairing to a phone or tablet, a line input for connecting a mixer, CD player or similar, a microphone input for announcements, and an RJ45 Ethernet port for connecting to a network/PC to stream music.

The Omni speakers are powered via the mains and have the amplifier, audio filter and receiver all built in. During the initial power on, they should automatically pair with the Stream transmitter for a seamless setup.

The Spottune Stream can control 2 zones individually. There is a button on each speaker which will specify the zone, and through the Stream tansmitter, you can choose the audio source and volume for each zone, which will then affect each connected speaker to that zone.

Spottune Cloud Service

Spottune offers a cloud-based service which can be used to wirelessly configure and control your Spottune systems. Once registered, you will be provided with the option to access to the cloud software, which is available on a desktop computer.

The cloud service isn't required to run or use Spottune - this can be done completely offline with the hardware itself, but it does open up a lot more options:

Wireless Configuration

Spottune can be fully configured from a computer. This includes the standard setup procedure, such as assigning zones and music playback sources, but also includes adjusting the EQ of the speakers, and setting a crossover frequency for the subwoofer.

Speaker Placement & Heat Map

One of the features with the Spottune cloud service is the speaker placement designer. This piece of software allows you to upload a floor plan of your building, and virtually place speakers within the space. The software will analyse the position on speakers, and produce a heat map showing any dead spots or loud areas, allowing you to fine-tune the best placement for your speakers.

Music Streaming

Through the cloud, you can stream music from any service you can integrate with Spottune. This includes Spotify, or locally stored music. You can also set up playlists and assign this to the Stream transmitter to play through the system.

Remote Access & Control

Because the cloud service is all online, you can access the settings and configuration options from just about anywhere.

This is ideal if you have multiple locations with Spottune installed in all of them, as you can see all connected devices from one computer. This will allow you to make any adjustments to the playlist in every location at once, for example at Christmas, and means you don't physically have to be at every location to make adjustments.

Pricing

The Spottune cloud service is available for €120 per year, and covers multiple separate Spottune systems. There is a 30-day free trial which can be activated after your purchase of Spottune, so you can decide whether it is needed or not.

When paired with the Omni speakers, it will make for a great system to be installed into a bar or pub looking for a more lively atmosphere, or a restaurant looking for a warm bass at lower volumes.

Features:

  • All-in-one smart subwoofer (built-in 200 W amplifier and receiver).
  • 25 cm (10") bass speaker/driver of long excursion.
  • Closed cabinet design for optimum output power and extended bass reproduction
  • Easy plug-and-play installation/connection to Spottune audio streamer STREAM
  • Reliable and stable audio transmission in the frequency range of 1.9 GHz

How it Sounds

The Spottune Omni speakers have been designed to provide the best possible sound quality, despite operating over a wireless signal.

They all feature a true 360 degree dispersion of sound, emitted equally in all directions. This wide dispersion ensures there are no dead or quiet spots, and can transmit sound up to a 100m distance. All of this means you can have far fewer speakers (up to 50% in certain cases), when compared with traditional speakers of the same design.

This will help reduce installation costs massively, and can also improve the visual aesthetics of the building.

Spottune operates over a 1.9GHz radio connection, which offers a much more stable and reliable connection compared to WLAN or Bluetooth. This ensures a high-fidelity signal meaning the speakers will reproduce the best audio quality possible with low latency.

Featuring a Class D amplifier, the speakers are lightweight and run cool making them suitable in most environments. 50W RMS can be surprisingly loud, and when multiple speakers are located around the room it will provide a nice consistent audio image capable of producing a decent amount of bass, thanks to a 50 - 15,000Hz frequency range.
